In response to an emergency at St Abbs, Scotland, PMP Rope Access Team were called to investigate and repair a leaking foul outfall system. A leak had been spotted on a local outfall pipe half way up a cliff face - access was difficult.

Using a tested A-frame for the rope access, PMP technicians rigged their ropes and safely abseiled down the cliff.

At the point of the leak, PMP discovered an unknown manhole chamber which was overflowing. Technicians removed the cover and found the downstream pipe was blocked and they were able to remove the blockage to release the flow.

The operation was successfully completed in under 2 hours.
