A
ferric solution storage tank at Grane WTW appeared to be
leaking. A NDT inspection of the tank was required to assess the
total condition of the tank and the condition of the void beneath
the tank.
Following drain down of the tank, PMP’s surveys team carried
out a NDT inspection and used a fibrescope to visually inspect the
void beneath the tank.
A full report of all defects was given to the client together with
recommendations on how to repair the tank. PMP subsequently carried
out the repairs by chemically bonding stainless steel plates over
the defects and then recoating the affected areas. All the welds
on the inside and outside of the tank were resealed.
