We
were commissioned to survey and inspect two gate valves at
Denton Water Treatment Works in Manchester to see if they were suitable
for automation.
The project required the disassembly of the existing headstocks
and inspection for damage. We installed lifting gear to remove the
valve headstock covers. The diameter and pitch of the drive worm
was measured to calculate the torque requirements of the new motor
for the electric actuator.
A detailed report about the condition of the gate valves and the
necessary specification for the electric actuators was submitted
to the client.
Actuators were then ordered, and were fitted by PMP at a later date.
