Following
unsuccessful attempts by four other contractors, PMP was
appointed to rectify a leakage problem caused by the thermal expansion
and contraction of 2 concrete storm tanks.
The stainless steel connecting channels between the concrete storm
tanks had been fitted without allowing for the thermal expansion
and contraction of the structure. PMP surveyed the channels and
designed a new sealing system which would allow for expansion and
contraction of the structure but still maintain a water tight seal
between the surfaces.
PMP then installed the system consisting of stainless steel sections,
polyurethane adhesive and EDPM foam.
The tanks were then filled and tested to check the integrity of
the system.
