Condition Assessment
PMP applies safe
systems of work and we safely carry out man
entry condition assessments so that both the
apparent defects and the consequential damage
can be seen at first hand. Using the most appropriate
measuring, inspection, non destructive testing
and communications equipment, we offer a wide
range of surveys and condition assessments.
Scope of Surveys:
We carry out:
• Man entry
condition assessments of:
•
impound reservoir draw-off
systems
• aqueduct pipelines
• service reservoirs
• surface water culverts
•
foul sewers
•
Pipe condition assessments using an ultrasonic
thickness gauge
•
Remote visual inspection using an industrial
fibrescope
•
Precise line and level surveys of sewers and
culverts
Ultrasonic Thickness
Measurement
Using an ultrasonic
thickness gauge, we can measure the thickness
of metals for the assessment of structural integrity.
We also carry out detailed pipe wall thickness
surveys on cast iron water pipes to monitor
internal and external corrosion. As well as
conventional external surveys, combining our
capability for working in Confined Spaces, provided safe man access can be achieved, we
can carry out pipe wall thickness surveys from
within reservoir draw-off pipes or water mains.
Fibre optic Remote
Inspection
For many applications,
such as the internal examination of small bore
pipes, confirmation of weld penetration, pressure
vessel examination and many others, the best
method of non-destructive testing is by remote
visual inspection using fibre optics.
Reporting
The primary aim of
any survey is to determine the underlying cause
of any defects observed. We provide a qualified,
independent assessment and interpretation leading
to comprehensive and appropriate recommendations.
